Havas Platform is a 6-month full-time paid internship programme in partnership with LIFT.  The various agencies within the Havas umbrella are providing 10 roles within the advertising, communication, and media industry. The programme is ideal for anyone looking to begin their career in the creative, tech and digital industry and is interested in brands, culture, and communication. The programme is designed to be an in-depth learning and supported role where you will have the opportunity to be a part of the real team, working on real briefs, doing real work, for real clients. You will also have access to a mentor and peer-to-peer group work.

This role is with Havas Agency: One Green Bean: PR role:

We’re looking for a Platformer to join our growing PR team at One Green Bean. We are earned media specialists, creating stories for brands that span travel, food and drink, retail, FMCG and technology. If you love crafting a great story, have a passion for writing and want to work in a team that champions great culture and award-winning creativity in equal measure, you could be exactly the Bean we need.

You’ll work in a cross-matrix team, alongside Account Managers and Account Directors, reporting into your team lead. No one day is ever the same –it’s a brilliant opportunity to get experience with brands in completely different industries and hone your writing, project management and media relations skills.

Our Platformers are a vital part of our team. This is more than just an administrative support role; we’re looking for people hungry to start their careers in PR and become the next gen of comms consultants. An eye for detail is important (from good spelling and grammar to beautifully formatted WIP documents),a passion to learn is a must (you’re a media consumer and keen to attend training to sharpen your skills) and you’re not afraid to share your ideas.

Duties

Writing is a big part of the job

  • Press releases, case studies, briefing documents, fact packs, biographies, WIP notes, media invitations, social copy –these are just some of the things you’ll turn your hand to as part of your role.
  • We’re looking for people who love to write, who have fantastic attention to detail and can apply feedback to sharpen their written work further.

It’s all about those brilliant basics

  • We manage lots of projects and workstreams simultaneously, so it’s important that we nail account management. That means well-written, actionable emails, clear WIPs and WIP notes, well-planned timelines and methodically organised cost budgets and coverage trackers.
  • We’re looking for an Account Executive who thrives in a fast-paced environment, wants to get stuck in and is an excellent project manager.

You love creating a great story

  • We craft stories that other people will want to share. A lot of work goes into creating truly agenda-setting stories, from the initial brainstorm, sharing it with the client, writing media strategies that consider the different angles and segments and working with suppliers to bring it to life (whether that’s a stunt, photo, celebrity or piece of content). You’ll be involved at every stage of the process.
  • We’re looking for someone who loves consuming the news, is clued up on culture, celebrity and trends and gets geekily excited about brand stories that fly.

Building great relationships

  • We have fantastic relationships with our clients, suppliers and journalists and spend a lot of time nurturing these relationships to create the best work.
  • You’ll have started to build relationships with media, be keen to expand and strengthen your network and be excited to establish new relationships with clients and suppliers. You’ll be confident pitching stories to journalists on the phone and sharing the updates for which you are responsible in client meetings.

Essential criteria

  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Demonstrate interest in PR through previous work or training
  • Passion for storytelling, building relationships and securing media coverage.
  • A real team player, keen to support their team and create the best possible work

Essential eligibility requirements :

  • A resident of a LIFT borough (Camden, Hackney, Islington, and Tower Hamlets)

  • Have a keen interest in starting a career in the advertising, communication, and media industry
  • Are looking to take your first steps in the sector with a paid internship
  • Are available and committed to paid work for the full 6-month placement - - the programme will run from October 2023 – March 2024 and you must be available for full time work for the duration of the programme to be considered.

This programme aims to create opportunities for people with little or no experience of the creative industries, and we will prioritise applicants with less than six month’s relevant work experience.

Additional information

This role is for a Six-Month Platform position sitting as part of the One Green Bean agency.

This is a ‘hybrid’ role, which means that candidates will be required to work some of time in the office and some time working from home. The exact split of time across the office and home will be dependent on each team and the requirements of the work tasks on any given week.  However, Platformers should expect to be in the office up to 100% of the time, if required.
