This role is part of the Havas x LIFT Platform Internship programme; a unique placement experience with global agency Havas, in the advertising, communication and media sector.

Activation Team Assistant Internship - Havas Play

This is Havas Play. We exist to help brands play meaningfully in culture. Delivering meaningful business outcomes via data-powered media, and seamless through-the-line creative solutions.

We have 17 offices globally, including London, New York, Paris and Sydney.

Our services and capabilities are delivered by an in-house team, with expertise covering sponsorships & partnerships, original content, social, influencer marketing and live & digital experience, enabling us to create and deliver truly 360, integrated campaigns whatever the brief.

We work with some of the most well-known brands and rights holders across sport and culture, including: Arsenal, Altitude Films, Adobe, BBC, Bethesda, Aston Martin F1, Domino’s, EE (BAFTA, Home Nations, Team Excel & Wembley), Jaguar Land Rover (Rugby World Cup 21/23), JBL, JD Sports, Major League Baseball and The FA.

Activation Team

The Activation team at Havas Play includes experienced specialists across Comms, Social, Influencer & Culture Marketing, Partnerships, Sponsorship Strategy & Activation, Live & Digital Experience and Production.

This unique role will join one of the client teams offering a wide breadth of invaluable experience that will touch all elements of the business.

We’re looking for someone who is really passionate about all things sport, culture, gaming and entertainment.

Duties

Working on some of the UK’s biggest and most high-profile sports, gaming and entertainment clients. From day-to-day management of sponsorship rights between client and rights holder to large scale live events, brand activations and social media. You will support the activation team in building and managing campaigns for some of our biggest clients and projects such as:

Major League Baseball – Bringing baseball to life in the UK through content, live events, working with influencers and talent and brand partnerships.

EE – Managing and activating EE’s title sponsorships across Wembley Stadium, the four Home Nations Football Associations, Excel Esports team, and the BAFTAs, alongside delivering integrated brand campaigns with an experiential/live experience focus.

JBL – Creating bespoke content for JBL across Gaming and Music; delivering influencer-led campaigns, shooting bespoke social content, as well as rolling out global content asset toolkits to local markets.

Reporting into the team’s AEs & SAEs your key role will be to support the client teams on all areas of their day-to-day jobs - from receiving and responding to client and new business briefs, day to day account management and live event/activation planning and work on-site execution.

You’ll get first-hand experience of working with big brands, attending live events, helping to create content, working with influencers and talent and bringing brand partnerships to life. You might even get to go to some events at Wembley Stadium or do a bit of nationwide travel depending on what projects are live whilst you are with us. The role is fast paced and full on, so get ready for some fun!

Depending on the project, key responsibilities could include:

  • Researching influencers and talent, reaching out and building relationships.
  • Working with the content team to create and deliver amazing content to bring our events to life. Attending shoots and supporting the teams with the prep, sourcing materials etc.
  • Supporting with live events; attending site visits, supporting the team with location/venue and supplier research, helping to create key briefing documents, managing travel/logistics, whilst also playing a key role in on-hand event support, helping to manage guestlists, ticketing etc.
  • Support in developing campaign messages and building communication plans across different channels including PR, influencers and social media.
  • Support in gaining PR coverage for campaigns, supporting with media sell-ins to journalists.
  • Support in copywriting across such documents as media alerts, email copy, press releases and social media post copy.
  • Briefing and working with the Design Studio team to help create assets for the client.
  • Supporting the teams in keeping our clients happy through excellent account management, helping to contribute to status notes and reports to move project tasks forward.
  • Participating in brainstorming sessions; contributing ideas and helping pull together case studies from competitor brands.
  • Working with our junior Activation team members to organise extra-curricular team events.

Essential criteria

There is no requirement for any prior work experience but a keen interest in sport, entertainment, gaming, film, music and culture is essential.

  • The most important thing is that you bring your energy, a strong work ethic and a curiosity to digest all the knowledge that we can offer you.
  • We’re looking for a team player; someone that loves to collaborate but can also be productive working alone, being able to take initiative and show proactivity.
  • Organisation and time-management is key – it’s a fast-moving pace, so being able to organise yourself is an important part of the role.
